2007 Western States on NBC tomorrow (Sat, 7/28 @ 3pm EST)

NBC Sports will feature the 2007 Western States as part of their coverage this Saturday, 7/28, @ 3pm EST. Here's the blurb from their Web site:
THE WESTERN STATES 100: Witness the jaw dropping, adrenalin pumping, sweat flying adventure of the Western States Endurance Run-one of the oldest ultra trail events in the world and certainly one of the most challenging: one day-100 miles Extreme mental and physical preparation are of utmost importance to each runner, for the mountains, although beautiful, are relentless in their challenge and unforgiving to the ill-prepared.
Relentless, indeed! You can find your local channel here. Be sure to set your Tivo's (ha, ha - just kidding Jeep World of Outdoor Sports - we'll all watch the commercials, we promise)

  1. Darn no Tivo. Bike ride or Western States recap? What would a WS runner do:)

  2. Bike ride Rick!
I'm trying to see if I can downlosd it somewhere from NBC or something since I don't even have TV...

  3. according to the outro of the show (I actually watched it live), you can buy the episode on itunes

  4. Thanks for posting this! We would have never known this was on TV (since we were out training like everyone else today). We Tivoed it and watched it tonight, and enjoyed it very much.

  5. I was disappointed with the program. Hardly got to see anything of the run and essentially NOTHING about Nikki Kimball. I did enjoy the accompanying spot about the rock climber though. :-)

  6. Better than no coverage at all, but agree with Kathy. Even my wife thought it was too superficial to be interesting, and more like a little promo for Montrail (nothing against Montrail, some of shoes are theirs). There is a lot of stuff that I think if done right, laypeople can appreciate.

I LIVE for comments! Please add your thoughts, let me know you stopped by, etc., and be thoughtful of others. Always best if you sign your name, of course.
