UROC Moves to Auburn, CA for 2015

The Ultra Race Of Champions (UROC) 100k will be moving to Auburn, CA, for 2015 after four successful years in the mountains of Colorado, it was announced today. The self-proclaimed "Ultrarunning World Championship" will continue to have one of the biggest prize purses in ultrarunning ($21,500) to attract the best ultrarunners from around the world, who will compete on September 26th, 2015, on a brand new course with 11,400'+ of climbing.

UROC Founders and Directors J. Russell Gill III and Dr. Francesca Conte are no strangers to creating challenging courses. They partnered with NorCalUltras Race Director Julie Fingar to create the new course, which includes some new trails and many sections familiar to those who have run ultras in this area of the Sierras, such as the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run, the American River 50m, and the Way Too Cool 50k. Registration begins on October 25th on a first come, first serve basis, and will include a 50k and Half Marathon option.

The 2014 UROC 100k was won by Chris Vargo (9:45) and Anita Ortiz (12:05).
