Thanks especially to John for taking the time to give such thoughtful responses. Fascinating stuff, and John is such an enthralling writer!Gretchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01132576974564001603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860166.post-33239258335327830852009-01-15T19:26:00.000-08:002009-01-15T19:26:00.000-08:00Another great and very informative interview Scott...Another great and very informative interview Scott. I am glad there's such an enthusiastic and talented team that comprise the Board. Here's a photo of Marc Falcone (Marko) taken at the Duncan Canyon Trail Clearing day last June.

http://picasaweb.google.com/pcharteris/WSTrailMarking#5214522452640501362

A couple of days before, a doctor had told Marko he has a serious heart condition and should not under any circumstances do anything stressful. So, he's biking into Duncan Canyon with with his chainsaw. Turns out the doctors diagnosis was bogus.

Cheers, PaulPaul Charterishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02831196294867106529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860166.post-34474747420090617632009-01-15T11:41:00.000-08:002009-01-15T11:41:00.000-08:00Jasper,Who you callin' a goofball? Craig and Bryon have some very interesting things to say, and I think the board should be paying attention to their ideas.

Andy, well he's just a goofball, but they might get a smile out of it... ;)

-JasperJasper Halekashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11847345062954257085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860166.post-12954984605217618752009-01-15T08:22:00.000-08:002009-01-15T08:22:00.000-08:00John, I too was very active in the early years of...John, I too was very active in the early years of WS100. Phil Gardner and I were the ones called on to mark the trail in the early years and my experience doing the run in 1982 was nothing short of spectacular. Again in 1987 I was a participant that too was a spectacular year for me. We should talk some time. Well done and insightful. Each of the very popular ultra events have strong support behind the scenes which makes things happen. I would hope up next in your interviews would be for those other biggies..Hardrock, Wasatch, Leadville, Vermont. I think what the community would see are directors or organizations with a strong commitment to the sport and each with different skills and issues which make each event unique.
Tony LaffertyTony Laffertyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08803559031879184386noreply@blogger.com
