You managed to take some great pictures along the course AND finish fast! I enjoyed your race report. I ran this year too, but finished in 3:29 and change. I'm getting old but was sure that Katherine Switzer ran her historic Boston 30 years ago.

Anyway, Frank Shorter was my hero when I was in high school. It was great watching him win the marathon at his birth place at age 25 (I thought he was old at the time). And I can still remember Boston Billy's races in the 1970's. He an Shorter used to run doubles over some weekends and swap first and second place in the 5K and 10K distances.

Wow, once you find a seemingly missing crack in the cranium, memories just keep flowing. Frank Shorter won the Pan AM games marathon in his debut. I recall he puked during the race.

Ah, the good ol' days! *tcTony Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17006754089850914184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860166.post-83996130416004803812007-04-22T12:13:00.000-07:002007-04-22T12:13:00.000-07:00Congratulations! I love your lighthearted attitude, which is so rarely matched by such a blistering pace!
So cool you got to chat up such running greats!

I might see you at Bay to Breakers or the Trans Sierra Crossing in August. Can't decide between B2B or the Tilden Tough Ten.

I'm also looking for a running partner for the TransRockies run in September, 6 days, 125 miles from Beaver Creek to Aspen, CO; if you know anyone who is interested. The race requires teams of 2, so I'm looking for a runner around my pace (presently averaging 9-10 min/miles on hilly trail runs, hope to get a little faster over the summer), hopefully in the Bay Area so we can train together.
I've got to find someone by May 1st or I forfeit my spot.
