I was disappointed when last years race was cancelled ( a firefighter who couldn't run WS because of a wildfrire - how ironic.) I learned to view it as more time to mature and train for this great adventure. I will see you at the finish, however, you will be many hours ahead of me. See you at WTC, AR50, Miwok and the WS training runs. . . So many volunteers, spectators, crews and pacers. All o...I admit I will eventually try to get in it. All of the hype has turned me off to it though. It seems like the bandwagon 100 to run. I qualified for Boston a long time ago and because of the hype I have had zero desire to run it. When I do run Western States it better be one hell of a ride. My guess is that it will be a little bit of a let down after all the talk. Hopefully I am wrong when that happens.

Until then I will do races that I know I can just sign up for and run without having to "fast and pray" for months to try to help my chances of getting in.Honehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10305522904478032648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860166.post-83881840236541476012009-02-19T21:43:00.000-08:002009-02-19T21:43:00.000-08:00I'd say the best comparison is that WS is the Rose...I'd say the best comparison is that WS is the Rose Bowl of ultras.Zackohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16590379743835651587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860166.post-78629230544332603412009-02-19T17:25:00.000-08:002009-02-19T17:25:00.000-08:00Nice...there is so much that makes WS special. Did AJW tell you that? Maybe something like 3:00 or 3:15 would be more appropriate.
